Replacing the S and R models, the 2018 Speed Triple came in base S and top-spec RS guise and as well as a host of electrical updates also gained chassis and styling upgrades. Now replaced by the 2021 Speed Triple 1200 RS, this generation is the last of the old-school chilled-out 1050 motored bikes and you have to love them for that. On paper, there is very little difference between the Speed Triple 1200 RR and the Speed Triple 1200 RS. A clearly focused sport riding position with clip-ons and an upgrade to the Öhlins EC 2.0 smart electronic suspension are where the divergences occur, but it is the aesthetic presence of the RR that makes it feel like it is in a whole class
A. There there would be thousands of dead Street Triple riders. B. The base Street Triple wouldn't have smashed ALL it's competitors in the sales category. C. NHTSA would have been all over Triumph if it was truly unsafe. D. There's a awful lot of Street Triple riders out there (over 180 pounds) dragging their knees on unmodified Streeties.
